It is a storyline that could be tucked right into the pages of a soccer version of the academy award nominated film Moneyball.
Vugar Huseynzade has been playing the video game Football Manager since 2002 when he was approximately 11 years old. Since February, he has been using his decade of video game experience to advise the soccer club FC Baku of the Azerbaijani Premier League. This is incredible in and of itself, but the story doesn’t end there. Recently, the twenty-one year old was hired to be the manager of the club charged with the responsibilities of orchestrating short term and long term strategy, scouting/buying players, selecting the game day squad and calling the substitutions. This gamer is now a Pat Riley–Eric Spoelstra hybrid at FC Baku. Now that is what I call a come up!
